Our two-week Vacation Schemes are designed to give students a challenging and rewarding experience, to develop skills and deepen knowledge of the law, while building networks with solicitors and other professionals in the field. This programme is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain an insight into life at TWM, to get a feel for what it’s like to work as a trainee lawyer at the firm and determine whether TWM might be a good fit for you.

Getting to know us

We offer two Vacation Schemes, which take place during July and September 2025 in our Guildford office. During this time, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside our teams of solicitors and contribute to real-life legal cases. You’ll also receive training and mentoring from experienced solicitors, including a variety of workshops covering topics across our various practice areas, and receive feedback and advice on your work and performance. Throughout your two-week placement at TWM, we’ll match you with a trainee buddy to help you settle in and answer any questions you may have.

How will I be assessed?

We’re looking for the next generation of partners and hope that this could be your first step on that path. After completing the Vacation Scheme, you’ll be considered for a place on the assessment day for our Training Contract programme where you’ll be given the opportunity to turn your Vacation Scheme into a training contract offer.

Who can apply?

The Vacation Scheme is open to undergraduates in the second year of study or above. We welcome applications from students who are passionate about pursuing a career in law whatever their background or experience.

Applications open: Friday 1 November 2024

Applications close: Friday 17 January 2025

Summer Vacation Scheme dates: 30 June – 11 July 2025

Autumn Vacation Scheme dates: 8 September – 19 September 2025

Assessment days will take place in March 2025.

There are up to four places to be filled in 2025 and successful applicants will be paid £423.28 per week.

2025 applications will be available soon. If you would like to register your interest for our 2025 programme, please contact our Vacation Schemes team at vacation.schemes@twmsolicitors.com
