John is a Senior Associate in the Business Law team, working out of the firm’s Guildford office. As a company commercial solicitor, John advises clients operating across a broad range of sectors, including cosmetics, interior design, wholesale and automotive.
John has a particular focus on commercial matters; regularly drafting, amending and negotiating supply and manufacturing agreements, terms and conditions of business, supply of services agreements, agency agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), consumer contracts, and advising generally on B2B and consumer contract law matters.
In addition, John handles corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), investment transactions, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, and corporate governance matters, such as amending articles of association.
John works with clients operating across a broad range of sectors, including cosmetics, interior design, wholesale, utilities and automotive.
Experience
John’s notable experience includes:
- Providing commercial advice to a leading cosmetics brand.
- Drafting commercial terms and conditions for a luxury furniture designer
- Drafting a cross-border distribution agreement for a leading player in the carbon capture and reduction space
- Acting on the multimillion-pound sale of a prominent insurance business
- Advising on the sale of a luxury chocolatier to a multinational
- Coordinating and advising on the cross-border reorganisation of a PLC providing global education services, working with Jersey counsel
- Advising a multinational biotech security company
- Acting for a venture capital investor in the private education space
- Acting for banks as part of their corporate lending due diligence.
Outside of work, John loves to travel, keeping active at the gym, and exploring the Sussex coast and South Downs on long walks.
