Raj is a Partner and the Deputy Head of the Residential Property team and is based in our Guildford office. Raj has extensive experience in all types of residential property matters and is highly regarded by estate agents, clients, colleagues and other lawyers alike. Raj is known for her efficient and proactive approach. Raj prides herself on being approachable, available, communicative and personable.
Experience
Raj is able to deal with all aspects of residential property, ranging in value and regardless of location. Raj’s experience includes dealing with both freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, deeds of variations and option agreements. Raj also has experience of secured lending transactions, having acted for both lenders and borrowers. Raj’s clients vary from first time buyers, high net worth individuals, investors and lenders.
Work highlights:
- Acting on a purchase involving a contract race and exchanging within 5 working day deadline from being instructed
- Site setup for development of 6 houses with the incorporation of a freehold management company and then acting on the sale of the houses
- Acting on the sale of a unregistered landed estate where different parcels of land were owned by different family members and arranging for first registration of the land
- Acting on the sale of a property registered in the name of an overseas entity which was not registered at Companies House where the beneficial owner and director was in financial difficulty and the lender had given notice to foreclose
- Acting on a purchase where Raj drafted a conditional contract with a Licence to Occupy, where the seller was an Executor but the Grant of Probate had not been issued.
Education and legal training
Raj qualified in 2006 having completed her training with a large regional firm in Kent. Raj joined TWM in February 2024 having practised at highly regarded national and regional law firms.
Raj speaks fluent Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.
Outside of work Raj enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking and walking.
