Role overview

We are seeking a future team member for the role of Communications and Content Manager in our Marketing department, reporting to the Marketing Director and working as a team of 3 together with a Marketing Executive.

This role will be based at our Guildford office, with travel to other office locations as required.

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Communications and Content Manager to join our Marketing team. This is a pivotal role focused on amplifying the firm’s thought leadership, legal updates, and public communications through strategic use of LinkedIn, website and relevant press channels.

You will be responsible for overseeing the creation, editing, and publication of legal articles, press releases, firm updates, and other relevant content. You’ll collaborate closely with Heads of Department and subject matter experts across the firm to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging communication of our expertise to a professional audience.

The successful candidate will have experience in developing and executing a wide range of content marketing campaigns, with a natural flare and interest in design, branding and content marketing, across multiple channels. We’re looking for someone who understands the evolving role of AI in content strategy, particularly in how it shapes content discovery and engagement.

You will play a lead role in implementing some of our key campaigns and wider marketing projects, working closely with our internal teams and third-party partners to foster collaboration and drive results. You will approach your work with passion and enthusiasm, and you will possess the perseverance and commitment necessary to see ideas through to execution.

Job description
Content Creation & Copywriting
  • Produce clear, compelling content across multiple formats, including legal articles, press releases, website copy, firm announcements, and external communications.
  • Translate complex legal topics into accessible content tailored for LinkedIn, media, and external audiences.
  • Review, edit, and develop high-quality content in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Identify and capitalise on timely media opportunities, ranging from news stories to thought leadership and commentary.
  • Ensuring alignment of all content published with the firm’s tone, brand, and strategic messaging.
  • Stay current with SEO and emerging AI trends to ensure web content is structured for both human readability and AI discoverability.
Campaign Planning and Execution
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate multi-channel communications and marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment with broader firmwide goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Maintain a content calendar to ensure regular and strategic publishing.
Social Media Management
  • Manage the firm’s LinkedIn presence, ensuring consistent, high-quality content that reflects the firm’s brand and aligns with the wider communications strategy.
  • Schedule and publish posts, develop new content, and monitor engagement.
  • Support fee earners in creating and sharing professional content.
  • Maintain an editorial calendar and stay updated on best practices.
Stakeholder Liaison
  • Liaise with Heads of Department and key internal stakeholders to gather content, approvals, and updates on legal developments and firm news.
  • Build strong internal relationships to ensure a steady pipeline of timely, relevant content.
Press Relations
  • Manage distribution of press releases and firm announcements.
  • Maintain relationships with journalists and editors; monitor press coverage and media performance.
Analytics & Reporting
  • Track engagement, reach, and performance of LinkedIn posts and press mentions.
  • Provide regular performance reports and suggest data-driven improvements.
PR / Content marketing
  • Liaise with third-party partners to manage PR campaigns.
  • Oversee the creation and editing of content across blogs, press releases, website landing pages, and internal communications.
  • Advise internal teams on content best practices and contribute strong copywriting support as needed.
Brand Management
  • Support the Marketing Director and Managing Partner in shaping and delivering the firm’s brand positioning and visual identity.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for internal teams and external partners.
  • Provide administrative support and reporting.
  • Offer ad hoc marketing support to ensure smooth departmental operations, particularly in cases of absence or increased demand.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships. Liaise closely and professionally with colleagues and third-party partners, while taking an active approach to internal and external meetings.

Purpose of the department

To devise and deliver an effective marketing and business development strategy to support the overall business, office and department plans for TWM Solicitors. The Marketing team assists the firm with its overarching marketing strategy and works with the heads of department to assist with the implementation of each team and office strategy.

To be successful in this role, we are seeking the following:

Qualifications

  • Proven professional experience in a content, communications, or marketing role, ideally within a legal, professional services, or corporate environment
  • Educated to a degree level in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Law, or related field
  • Experience working with PR/media or journalism, including press release drafting and media liaison
  • Additional certifications or training in digital marketing, SEO, or content strategy preferred

Desirable knowledge, skills and competencies

Legal & Industry Knowledge

  • Familiarity with legal terminology and the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, client-friendly content.

Media & PR

  • Established relationships with relevant journalists and/or experience working with PR agencies to pitch stories and manage press engagement.

AI & Analytics

  • Experience using generative AI tools for content ideas, drafting, and optimisation, with a working understanding of AI-powered search engine behaviour
  • Strong knowledge of analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics 4, LinkedIn Analytics) preferred
  • Ability to analyse performance data and client feedback to refine content strategies and demonstrate ROI.

Tools & Platforms

  • Proficiency in LinkedIn publishing tools and basic analytics
  • Experience with social media scheduling platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprinklr)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and essential IT platforms.
