Overview of the vacancy
The purpose of the job is for the Paralegal to play their part within the Private Client team at our Wimbledon office to assist with the team’s focus of providing the best possible service to our clients.
Our focus is on providing outstanding client service, through expert, clear advice and assistance on Wills, powers of attorney, probate and estate planning, delivered in a professional and engaged way that leads to high levels of client satisfaction. We work together at all levels of our team to create a supportive and pro-active environment to achieve this.
Key tasks, duties and quality standards
- Understands and contributes to the team’s core commitment to client service.
- As appropriate, the jobholder will be trained to do the following role:
- Assists with matter creation, progression and closure via the firm’s case management and practice management systems. This will include:
- Data entry;
- Preparing correspondence;
- Preparing documents; and
- Updating workflows.
- Reflects and maintains the team’s commitment to high levels of attention to detail, quality and accuracy in our work.
- Assists clients and liaises with third parties in person, on the phone and via correspondence in a manner which demonstrates our commitment to client service, professionalism and courteousness.
- Assist generally with the continued efficient and effective service levels of the team.
- Assists the team and the Private Client department generally as and when required.
- Undertakes any specific training when required to do so and has a pro-active approach to professional-development.

Qualifications
Within TWM there are three recognised routes to qualify as a Paralegal, as follows:
Institute of Paralegals qualifying route: You will be an Associate and have completed Level 3 of studies which requires a minimum of 1 year’s practical legal experience, which TWM required to be is in the specialist area of law in which you are practising. In total this route will require 3 years of study to achieve Qualified Paralegal status;
Or
CLT Specialist Paralegal Course route: You will be completing your one year course and, at the same time, gaining a year of practical legal experience in the specialist area of law in which you are practising;
Or
Graduate route: You will be a law Graduate with some relevant experience within the specialist areas of law in which you are practising.

- Has good IT skills in relevant software systems.

Desirable skills and abilities
- Prior knowledge of Isokon or other probate management systems.
- Prior knowledge of Practice Evolve or other practice management systems.
- Familiarity with Practical Law and FastDraft.
